The White Stirrup is given to equestrians who serve the equestrian arts in the Kingdom. Equestrian activities enhance the medieval pageantry at our events! SCA pursuits include mounted combat, jousting with opponents with foam/wooden lances; and games such as jousting at rings, hitting the quintain, obstacle courses, and archery from horseback.

Token/Regalia

A medallion bearing "Fieldless, A sun Or within and conjoined to a stirrup Argent" dependent from a cord around the neck. The award level is shown by the color of the ribbon with the award medallion. The three levels are:

Azure or blue ribbon (first level)
Argent or silver ribbon (second level)
Or or gold ribbon (third level, highest)

Titles

Bestows no titles or arms

Order of Precedence

This award is non-armigerous and takes precedence over baronial armigerous awards. The White Stirrup has the first level of precedence for Kingdom equestrian awards, above an Award of Arms.

Charter

In Anno Societatis Forty-four, during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Craven III and Elzbieta III there was created an award known as the White Stirrup.

There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award known as the White Stirrup, which may be given by the Crown to those equestrians who have given service to the equestrian arts in the Kingdom of Atenveldt.
This order shall consist of three levels and the award is suspended from a colored ribbon denoting the level:
The members of this Order shall be styled as Companions of the White Stirrup and shall be entitled place the initials C.W.S. after their names.
The insignia of the order, "Fieldless, A sun Or within and conjoined to a stirrup Argent".
Companions of the Order shall take precedence before armigerous Baronial Awards.
The Protectors of the order will be the Crown of Atenveldt.
Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Crown of Atenveldt.
The membership in the Order of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.
