Honor of Sun Dragon

Heraldry Award Information Blazon: The insignia is ribbons colored as the rainbow in the Baronial Arms, that displayed pinned to the left shoulder by members of the order. Founded: Premiere(s): Recipients: Visit the Order of Precedence.

Charter There shall exist in the Barony of Sundragon an award known as the Honor of Sundragon. It may be given by the Baron/ess to those people who have toiled in service to the Barony, or otherwise have excelled in Merit. The holder of this award shall be entitled to place after their names CHSD and shall be styled Companions of the Honor of Sundragon.  The insignia of the Order shall consist of ribbons colored as the rainbow in the Baronial Arms, which shall be displayed pinned to the left shoulder by members of the order. Ribbons will be awarded by the Baron/ess: Gules ribbon - first Argent ribbon - second Azure ribbon - third Or ribbon - fourth Purpure ribbon - Full Companionship This award may be presented to the same individual more than once, but only at a higher Level than is currently held by the recipient. Full Companionship in the Order will be awarded at the pleasure of the Baron/ess after consultation with the other full members of the order.  The Order shall take precedence equal to other Baronial service awards but before simple Awards of Arms; higher precedence shall remain unchanged, but a person of lower level shall rank from their elevation unto the Honor.  The Coronet of the Barony of Sundragon shall carry the title of Principal of the Honor of Sundragon, and shall have all rights, duties, and privileges of Companion of the Order. The person(s) first elevated unto full companionship shall bear the title of Premier of the Honor of Sundragon.  Amendments to this Order shall be made by the Principal of the Order, after consultation with the crown.

Commander of the Honor of Sun Dragon

Heraldry Award Information Blazon: The insignia is worn on the left shoulder and consists of a golden hexagon shaped medallion blazoned "Argent, on a bend between two reef knots fesswise azure, three reef knots argent, a bordure azure" Founded: October 20, 2002 by Tatiana and Dmitri Premiere(s): Gilda Nootka's wife Recipients: Visit the Order of Precedence.

Charter In AS 37 (2002) during the reign of Aaron & Alisandra I under the stewardship of Tatiana  Dmitri, Baroness and Baron of Sun Dragon there was created an award known as the Commander of the Honor of Sun Dragon.  Gilda Nootka's wife was created Premier of this order on 10/20/2002.   Amendments to this charter were made in AS 53 (2019) during the reign of Morgan  Elizabeth III, under the stewardship of Jacqueline  Gefroi, to remember the extraordinary service of Yehuda of Nuremburg, OP, a member of the Barony of Sun Dragon.  There shall exist in the Barony of SunDragon an award known as the Commander of the Honor of SunDragon. It may be given by the Baron or Baroness to full Companions of the Honor of SunDragon who have demonstrated high merit and continued service and duty within the Barony of SunDragon.  In remembrance of the extraordinary service of departed SCA populace member, Master Yehuda of Nuremburg, OP, the insignia of the commander shall consist of a golden hexagon shaped medallion depicting the blazon "Argent, on a bend between two reef knots fesswise azure, three reef knots argent, a bordure azure" and shall be worn on the left shoulder. Bearers of this award may signify their name with the initials CBSD.  Commander of the Honor of SunDragon can be conferred no more than twice annually at the discretion of the Baron and Baroness after consulting with members of the Order. Their Excellencies should consult with Companions of the Honor for the initial nominee(s).  A candidate for the Commander must be a Companion of the Honor of SunDragon fully five years prior to their nomination.  Commander of the Honor of SunDragon shall take precedence over other Baronial arts and sciences awards and over simple Awards of Arms. Order of the Prisma Draconis of Sun Dragon

Charter In Anno Societatis LIII (2018) during the reign of Ivan II and Ian’ka under the stewardship of Jacqueline and Gefroi, Baroness and Baron of Sun Dragon, there was created an award known as the Order of the Prisma Draconis of Sun Dragon. Raven Mayne and Tvoislava Michelovna were created Premiers on November 18th, 2018.  There shall exist in the Barony of Sun Dragon an award known as the Order of the Prisma Draconis which shall be given by the Coronet to those who continue to give years of faithful service to the barony.  This award may be given at any Barony of Sun Dragon event.   A maximum of two awards may be given annually at Their Excellencies’ discretion and an individual may receive the award once   Companions of the Order shall be entitled to place PDSD after their names.  The insignia for this order shall be a medallion bearing “Gules, a dragon segreant contourny bearing a jewel and a bordure indented argent”.  Companions of the order shall take precedence directly after kingdom awards and before all other baronial awards.  Companions of this order shall continue to discharge the same duties, rights and privileges as the closed order of the Permanent Court and Guard of Sun Dragon.  The membership of the Order of the Permanent Court and Guard are hereby confirmed as members of the Order of the Prisma Draconis.  Membership of previous recipients of the Prisma Draconisis hereby confirmed.  The Protector of the order shall be the Crown and the Principal of the Order shall be the Coronet.  Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Coronet after consultation with the Crown.   Dated June 16, 2018   Jacqueline, Baroness.  Gefroi, Baron Seamus McDaid, Aten Principal Herald

Permanent Court and Guard (closed order) Given to those who rendered good and ongoing service on the court and guard of the barony. These exceptional people are essential to the running of baronial court. During the transition ceremony of a Baron and Baroness, Permanent Court Members are caretakers of the baronial regalia. Amendment to Permanent Court and Guard Charter All members of this Order are hereby admitted to the Prisma Draconis of Sun Dragon, and are further confirmed with the right to be known, both collectively and singularly, as the Order of the Prisma Draconis and bear the insignia of the Prisma Draconis from this day forward.   This order is hereby closed by command of their Their Excellencies, Jacqueline and Gefroi, Baron and Baroness of Sun Dragon.  Confirmed by Their Majesties Ivan II and Ian’ka, King and Queen of Atenveldt. Charter In AS 41 (2006) during the reign of Aaron  Alisandra II under the stewardship of Katheline and Ryan, Baroness and Baron of Sun Dragon there was created an award known as the Commander of the Dragon's Scale of Sun Dragon.  Dementia Eoda Blauschild was created Premier of this order on 12/1/07.  The Charter of this order was signed by Their Royal Majesties Morgan  Livia I and Their Excellencies Katheline  Ryan on 9/19/07.  Amendments to this charter were made in AS 53 (2019) during the reign of Morgan  Elizabeth III, under the stewardship of Jacqueline  Gefroi, to commemorate the extraordinary artistic skills of Mary Margaret of Derby, OL,OP, first baroness of of Sun Dragon.  There shall exist in the Barony of SunDragon an award known as the Commander of the Dragon’s Scale of SunDragon. It may be given by the Baron or Baroness to full Companions of the Dragon’s Scale of SunDragon who have demonstrated high merit and continued activity in the area of the arts and sciences within the Barony of Sun Dragon.  In remembrance of the extraordinary artistic skills of a departed member of Sun Dragon, Mary Margaret of Derby, OL, OP, the insignia of the commander shall consist of a golden lozenge shaped medallion blazoned “Azure, a domestic cat passant to sinister Or”.  Bearers of this award may signify their name with the initials CBSD.  Commander of the Dragon's Scale of SunDragon can be conferred no more than twice annually at the discretion of the Baron and Baroness after consulting with members of the Order. Their Excellencies should consult with Companions of the Dragon's Scale for the initial nominee(s).  A candidate for the Commander must be a Companion of the Dragon's Scale of Sun Dragon fully five years prior to their nomination.  Commander of the Dragon's Scale of SunDragon shall take precedence over other Baronial arts and sciences awards and over simple Awards of Arms. Heraldry Award Information Blazon: The insignia of the Order shall consist of aiguillettes for each of the four levels of the award. 1st. Trooper - red 2nd. Corporal- blue 3rd. Sergent - gold. Full. Charter There shall exist in the Barony of Sundragon an award known as the Order of the Dragon's Fury. It may be given by the Baron and/or Baroness to those people who have displayed excellence in the fighting arts, both in the use and the teaching of the weapons of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. The holders of this award shall be entitles to place after their name EDC and shall be styled Ensigns of the Dragon''s Claw.  The insignia of the Order shall consist of aiguillettes for each of the four levels of the award. The first level, known as Trooper, shall be designated by a single cord of red. The second level, known as Corporal, shall be designated by a single cord of blue. The third level, known as Sergeant, shall be designated by a single cord of gold. The full award, known as Ensign, shall be designated by a braided cord in the colors of the award. All members of the Order shall display their insignia on the left shoulder.  Aiguillettes shall be awarded by the Baron and/or Baroness, after consultation with the current Ensigns. This award may be presented to the same individual more than once, but only at a higher Level than is currently held by the recipient.  The Order shall take precedence equal to the other Baronial fighting awards, but before simple Award of Arms, Higher precedence shall remain unchanged, but a person of lower precedence shall rank from their elevation into the order.  The Coronet of the Barony shall caddy the Title of Captain of the Dragon's Fury, and shall have all rights, duties, and privileges of the Ensigns of the order.  The person(s) first elevated unto the Ensign shall bear the Title of Premier Ensign of the Order of the Dragon's Fury.  VII. Amendments to this Charter shall be made by the Captain of the Order, after due consultation with the Crown.

Charter In .A.S. XXV being 1990 in the common era - Whereas the practice of rapier combat has reached a level of skill that is need be recognized in the Barony of Sun Dragon, We, the Baroness, hereby proclaim there shall exist, in the Barony of Sun Dragon, an order known as the Order of the Baroness' Cavaliers which may be given at the pleasure of the Baroness to members if the populace of Sun Dragon who have demonstrated all of the following qualities: Exceptional skill and chivalry in combat with the weapons of the duello. (Duello shall be taken to refer to rapier combat.) Knowledge of the Courtly Graces, such as music, dance and the other gentle arts. Obedience to the laws of the Society for Creative Anachronism, the Kingdom of Atenveldt, and the Barony of Sun Dragon. Consistent, courteous and noble behaviour. Authenticity in dress, equipment and behavior, in keeping with their chosen. Show a willingness to share their knowledge and skills with others.  Holders of the Order shall be entitled to place after their names the letters BCSD and shall be styled and announced in processions as "Holder of the Baroness' Cavaliers of Sun Dragon"  The Baroness shall make the selection of a member to the order, after consultation with the holders of the order.  The Baroness at an official SCA event shall give the award.  The insignia of the order shall be a lozenge-shaped pin bearing the initial of the presenting Baroness.

Order of the Eye of the Dragon

Charter In Anno Societatis LIX (59), during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Morgan and Elizabeth, under the stewardship of Elizabeth and Duncan, Baroness and Baron of Sundragon there was ‘created a recognition known as the Order of the Dragon's Eye of Sundragon. Ceallach Colquhoun was created the Premier of Eye of the Dragon on March 22, 2025. There shall exist in the Barony of Sundragon an award known as the Order of the Dragon's Eye of Sundragon, which will be given by the Baroness and Baron, subject to the pleasure of the Crown, to those persons who have displayed excellence in the performance, promotion and teaching of the chivalrous art of archery. The holders of this award shall be styled as Companions of the Dragon's Eye of Sundragon and shall be entitled to place the initials C.D.E. after their names. The Premier of the Order shall be the first person to receive this award. The insignia of the Order shall consist of a leather medallion presented on a red, white, and blue ribbon, whose design shall be: "(Fieldless) On a set of nesting scale weights Or a lozenge purpure." Companions of the Order shall take precedence after Kingdom and Principality awards, but before Awards of Arms. Amendments to this Charter shall be made by the Baron and Baroness of Atenveldt after due consultation with the Crown. Companionship of previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed. Charter There shall exist in the Barony of Sun Dragon and award Known as the Order of the Dragon’s Heart.  The Order of the Dragon’s Heart may be given by the Coronet of Sun Dragon to individuals who have shown the worthy qualities of courtesy and courtly behavior with such consistency that they are recognized to be an example of gallantry to all. The insignia of the Order of the Dragon’s Heart shall be, subject to the College of Arms, a medallion depicting the badge of the Order of the Dragon’s Heart, blazoned thusly: [fieldless] A heart gules charged with a rainbow, proper.  I Bearers of the Order of the Dragon’s Heart may place the initials DHSD after their name.  This Order shall carry precedence after the Order of the Dragon’s Fury.  Amendments to the Order of the Dragon’s Heart Charter shall be made by the Coronet of the Barony of Sun Dragon after due consultation with the Crown of Atenveldt.

Charter In AS LIII (2018) during the reign of Ivan II and Ian’ka under the stewardship of Jacqueline and Gefroi, Baroness and Baron of Sun Dragon, there was created an award known as the Commander of the Dragon’s Heart.  Deborah inis Glas and Diego de Marulanda  were created Premiers on November 18th, 2018.  There shall exist in the Barony of Sun Dragon an award known as the Commander of the Dragon's Heart of Sun Dragon which shall be given by the Baron or Baroness to full Companions of the Dragon's Heart of Sun Dragon who continue to show the qualities of courtesy and courtly behavior with such consistency that they should be recognized as an example of gallantry to all.  The insignia of the Commander shall consist of a brass heart shaped medallion bearing a rainbow gules, argent, azure, Or and purpure, clouded argent.  Bearers of this award may signify their name with initial CDHSD. Order of the Rainbow's Promise

Charter In the Reign of Aaron II and Alisandra II the Order of the Rainbow's Promise was created by the Barony of Sun Dragon and Dmitri and Tatiana, Baron and Baroness of Sun Dragon.  There shall exist in the Barony of Sun Dragon an award known as the Order of the Rainbow's Promise.  The Order of the Rainbow's Promise may be given by the Coronet of Sun Dragon to individuals who are under 16 years of age who are a radiant example of the promise of the Dream by their efforts in the many aspects of the Society, which may include arts, service, the fighting arts, and who display a good knowledge of the courtly graces.  The insignia of the Order of the Rainbow's Promise shall be a medallion depicting the badge of the Order of the Rainbow's Promise, blazoned thusly: "[fieldless] A rainbow surmounted by a sprouted acorn, proper". Bearers of the Order of the Rainbow's Promise may place the initials RPSD after their name.  This Order shall carry precedence after the Order of the Dragon’s Heart.  Amendments to the order of the Rainbow's Promise charter shall be made by the coronet of the barony of Sun Dragon after due consultation with the Crown of Atenveldt.

Order of the Dragon's Talons

Order of the Dragon’s Talons within the Barony of SunDragon. This award is given to Youth Combatants. In Anno Societatis XXXVII during the reign of Their Excellencies Deborah and Diego, by the grace of the Crown of Atenveldt, there was created an award known as the Order of the Dragon’s Talons. I            There shall exist in the Barony of SunDragon an award known, subject to approval by the College of Arms, as the Order of the Dragon’s Talons, for Youth Combatants, which may be given by the Baroness and the Baron to individuals who demonstrate skill, enthusiasm and responsibility in the fighting arts and understanding the codes of chivalry. II           Dependant on the Divisions of age, the award shall be given in three levels. 6 - 9 years: Level 3 or Gules Level 10 - 12 years: Level 2 or Argent Level 13 - 16 years: Level 1 or Or Level III          This award may be presented to the same individual more than once, but only at a higher level than currently held by the recipient. Charter I. There shall exist in the Barony of SunDragon an award Known as the Companions of the Dragon’s Fireplace. Created during the Reign of Their Excellency's Viola and Wilhelus, tenth Baroness and Baron of SunDragon. II. Given to those individuals or households who have consistently and over time opened their manors and shown hospitality in its many and varied forms to strangers and friends to our fair barony. III. The insignia for the Companion of the Dragon’s Fireplace shall be, subject to the College of Arms, a pennon bearing the badge of the Companions’ of the Dragon’s Fireplace, blazoned thusly: per pale rayonny OR, and sable, in dexter base a flame proper IV. Bearers of the Companion of the Dragon’s Fireplace may place the initials CDF after their name. V. This Order shall carry precedence after the Order of the Dragon’s Heart. VI. Charter There is a checklist available for those interested in putting themselves forward as candidates for the Rainbow's Gold. There is also a mailing list available for this Order and its candidates. There shall exist in the Barony of SunDragon an award known as the Order of the Rainbow's Gold. It may be given by the Baron/ess to those persons recognized by the other members of the Order as having completed the requirements necessary (see below). The holder of this award shall be entitled to place after their name CRG and shall be styled Companions of the Rainbow's Gold of the Barony of SunDragon. Insignia of the Order shall be a single gold medallion depicting the Baronial Rainbow and strung with a cord of the SunDragon rainbow colours. The Order shall convey no precedence. The Coronet of the Barony shall carry the title of Principal of the Rainbow's Gold, and shall have all rights, duties, and privileges of Companions of the Order. Lilly Elizabethdottir was created the Premier of March 21, 2025. 1. There shall exist in the Barony of Sundragon an award known as Rainbow's Flame of Sundragon which shall be given by the Baroness and/or Baron to the animals and beasts that bring joy and happiness to members of the populace of the Barony of Sundragon. 2.
