Spear of the Sun

This award is given to fighting units or households who have demonstrated excellence in the art of war, both in teaching and in the use of traditional SCA style weaponry on the fields of combat. 

Token/Regalia

The group may fly a pennon bearing, “Per pale argent and azure, in pale a sun in his splendor and two spears in saltire Or” the household or group banner.

Non-armigerous, precedence after Scarabs of Atenveldt but before the Blood of Fenris.

Charter

n Anno Societatis Thirty Nine, during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Phelan and Mariana there was created an award known as the Order of the Spear of the Sun. ; The Eberhauer Landsknecht was created the Premier of this order on February 19, 2005 at Estrella war.

1. There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award, known as the Order of the Spear of the Sun, which may be given by the King and Queen to those fighting units or households who have demonstrated excellence in the art of war, both in teaching and in the use of traditional SCA style weaponry on the fields of combat.
2. The members of the Order shall be styled as Companions of the Spear of the Sun. </span>
3. The insignia of the order shall be a pennon bearing, (TBD) to be flown with the household or group banner.
4. Any individual group may receive only one Order of the Spear of the Sun.
5. Companions of the Order shall take precedence after Scarabs of Atenveldt but before the Blood of Fenris.
6. The Crown of Atenveldt shall make amendments to this charter.
7. The Principal and Protector of the Order shall be the King.
8. The membership in the Order of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.
