The Black Chamfron recognizes people for demonstrated excellence and skill on the Equestrian tournament field and in the Equestrian Arts.  These equestrians also distinguish themselves by showing leadership and honor on-and-off the equestrian tournament field; knowledge and practice of the courtly graces; consistent service to the Kingdom; and respect for the laws and customs of the Kingdom of Atenveldt.

Titles

Confers a Grant of Arms which bestows the title of "Honorable Lord/Lady". Individuals are addressed as "Your Lordship / Ladyship".

Order of Precedence

This award is armigerous and takes precedence after the Lions of Atenveldt and before simple grants of arms. The Black Chamfron has a higher precedence than the White Stirrup.

Charter

In Anno Societatis Forty-four, during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Craven III and Elzbieta III there was created an award known as the Order of the Black Chamfron

  1. There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award, known as the Order of the Black Chamfron which may be given by the Crown to those persons who have demonstrated excellence and skill on the Equestrian tournament field and in the Equestrian Arts.
  2. These equestrians have also distinguished themselves in demonstrating leadership, honor on and off the equestrian tournament field; knowledge and practice of the courtly graces; consistent service to the Kingdom; and who have shown respect for the laws and customs of the Kingdom of Atenveldt.
  3. The members of the Order shall be styled as Companions of the Black Chamfron and shall be entitled to place the initials C.B.C. after their names.
  4. The insignia of the Order shall consist of - "fieldless a chamfron Sable charged with a sun Or"
  5. Companionship in the Order shall carry a Grant of Arms.
  6. Commanders of the Order shall take precedence after the Lions of Atenveldt and before simple Grants of Arms.
  7. The Principal and Protector of the Order shall be the King.
  8. Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Crown of Atenveldt.
  9. Membership in the Order of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.
