Tvioslava joined SCA in 1995 in the Barony of Tir Ysgithr. She had some friends in the SCA invited her to join and expand her social circle. Her first event was a demo in Tucson at mini golf place because they were having the SCA provide ambiance. At the time she was drawn by the idea of dressing up and going camping. She also enjoyed the music and sitting around the fire and listening to the bards. She moved to Phoenix in 1997 and joined Barony of Sundragon. What's in a Name
Tvoislava Michelovna, she took 2 years of Russian in college and had to pick a name in the class was Turrel. This was a natural transition for her to the SCA, but she couldn't pass that name. She picked it because it was Russian, started with a T and female. So that is what she passed. She commonly goes by Turrel.
Persona
Originally, she was a 16th century Rus woman living in Kiev. There was wasn't a lot of research at the time on Russian garb and she decided she liked Italian and English also 16th century.
Heraldry Story
Tvoislava's first major in college was aerospace engineering and really loved the moon and the stars. Red has always been one of her favorite colors and the black was not only a great pairing, but was great for depicting the night sky. The reason for the wavy bend was that she needed to add a complex line to get past a conflict to get it passed.
