Cian mac Conmara became involved with the S.C.A. in 1981, after high school graduation. He lived in what would become the Shire of Mugmort within the Barony of Middle Marches in the Middle Kingdom. He was one of the first (uncredited) A&S Officers of the Shire. He moved to the Marche of Tirnewydd where his connection to the S.C.A. was cemented.

Cian traveled and lived, for a short time, in Crystal Crags within the [[Barony of Sentinels Keep]] of the [[Kingdom of Artemisia]] and in the [[Shire of Sangre del Sol]] of the [[Kingdom of Trimaris]], before finally settling in Atenveldt. While in Atenveldt, Cian lived in the [[Barony of Atenveldt]], and later moved to the (former) [[Shire of Nathair Airgid]], where he served as an A&S Officer and as [[Seneschal]]. Cian mac Conmara became involved with the S.C.A. in 1981, after high school graduation. He lived in what would become the Shire of Mugmort within the Barony of Middle Marches in the Middle Kingdom. He was one of the first (uncredited) A&S Officers of the Shire. He moved to the Marche of Tirnewydd where his connection to the S.C.A. was cemented.

Cian traveled and lived, for a short time, in Crystal Crags within the [[Barony of Sentinels Keep]] of the [[Kingdom of Artemisia]] and in the [[Shire of Sangre del Sol]] of the [[Kingdom of Trimaris]], before finally settling in Atenveldt. While in Atenveldt, Cian lived in the [[Barony of Atenveldt]], and later moved to the (former) [[Shire of Nathair Airgid]], where he served as an A&S Officer and as [[Seneschal]]. Cian returned to the [[Barony of Atenveldt]] after the Shire was disbanded.

Cian is the Patriarch of [[Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder]], a small clan within the Greater Houses of [[Rolling Thunder]]. His Matriarch is Lady [[Catarine MacFadyen]].

== Persona ==
Cian mac Conmara was born in County Clare, Ireland at the end of the 10th century. He was kidnapped as a child by the Danish Vikings that frequently invaded Clare and brought up as a healer, an herbalist, by the family that adopted him. He moved with his new family to Yorkshire in Danelaw, a region of northern and eastern England, in the early 11th century.

Cian's surname is a contraction of "Mac Cú Na Mara" meaning "Son of the Hound of the Sea". The name began with the chieftain Cumara, a contracted form of Conmara, of Maghadhair in county Clare, Ireland.

Cian was awarded an AoA by Áilgheanán and Amber in 2017.

Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder is an independent, "free" clan within the greater clans of Rolling Thunder. Formed as a merge between two existing clans at Estrella War XXVIII: Dragon's Guard Thunder (formed in 2002) and Corràn Thunder (formed in 2009). Both Corràn Thunder and Dragon's Guard Thunder were descended from Dredded Thunder. Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder announced at Estrella War XXIX to be a Free Clan of Thunder.

==What's in a name?==
Corràn (meaning 'crescent' in Gaelic) was added to Dragons Guard at the time of the merge.

==Purpose==
Corràn Dragons Guard (CDG) is a teaching clan, meaning that they pass along the pre-17th-century skills that are learned to others within Rolling Thunder and the Society at-large. CDG is very much like a mundane (real) family.

Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder is an independent, "free" clan within the greater clans of Rolling Thunder. Formed as a merge between two existing clans at Estrella War XXVIII: Dragon's Guard Thunder (formed in 2002) and Corràn Thunder (formed in 2009). Both Corràn Thunder and Dragon's Guard Thunder were descended from Dredded Thunder. Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder announced at Estrella War XXIX to be a Free Clan of Thunder.

==What's in a name?==
Corràn (meaning 'crescent' in Gaelic) was added to Dragons Guard at the time of the merge.

==Purpose==
Corràn Dragons Guard (CDG) is a teaching clan, meaning that they pass along the pre-17th-century skills that are learned to others within Rolling Thunder and the Society at-large. CDG is very much like a mundane (real) family.

Although having roots in Atenveldt, Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder is currently spread across the Knowne World; primarily Atenveldt, Aethelmearc, and the Kingdom of the East.

==What is an Officer?==
As the S.C.A. is a volunteer organization, an officer is a volunteer who fills a particular role (office) for the organization. Society Officers fill Society-level roles, Kingdom Officers fill Kingdom-level roles, Baronial Officers fill Baronial-level roles, etc.... Some offices require Warrants, which are authorizations by the Society to perform certain functions, or roles, within the S.C.A. Kingdom-level and Branch Warrants are authorized by the Crown. All Officers must be paid Members.

According to the S.C.A. governing documents, an Officer is "A Society member serving in an appointed office as defined in Corpora, or as an appointed deputy in such an office, or in another office as may be defined by Kingdom Law, at any level of the Society, or in the role of organizer of a Society event (commonly referred to as “Autocrat” or “Steward”), or as a Territorial Baron or Baroness, or as Crown or coronet or heir to a Crown or Coronet."

==What is an Officer?==
As the S.C.A. is a volunteer organization, an officer is a volunteer who fills a particular role (office) for the organization. Society Officers fill Society-level roles, Kingdom Officers fill Kingdom-level roles, Baronial Officers fill Baronial-level roles, etc.... Some offices require Warrants, which are authorizations by the Society to perform certain functions, or roles, within the S.C.A. Kingdom-level and Branch Warrants are authorized by the Crown. All Officers must be paid Members.

According to the S.C.A. governing documents, an Officer is "A Society member serving in an appointed office as defined in Corpora, or as an appointed deputy in such an office, or in another office as may be defined by Kingdom Law, at any level of the Society, or in the role of organizer of a Society event (commonly referred to as “Autocrat” or “Steward”), or as a Territorial Baron or Baroness, or as Crown or coronet or heir to a Crown or Coronet."

Corràn (meaning 'crescent' in Gaelic) was added to Dragons Guard at the time of the merge.

==Purpose==
Corràn Dragons Guard (CDG) is a teaching clan, meaning that they pass along the pre-17th-century skills that are learned to others within Rolling Thunder and the Society at-large. CDG is very much like a mundane (real) family.

Although having roots in Atenveldt, Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder is currently spread across the Knowne World; primarily Atenveldt, Aethelmearc, and the Kingdom of the East.

==Clan Levels==
<li>FoT - Friend of Thunder. An individual who consistently assists the clan as needed, but is not a Member.
<li>Thunder Pup - A baby born to a clan member.
<li>Prospect - An individual who has been accepted by the clan for a trial period.
<li>Bronze - An individual who has demonstrated the ideals of Thunder and has passed the trial period.
<li>Silver - An individual who has exemplified the ideals of Thunder and who has given of themselves in service to Thunder, as well as their local SCA groups.
<li>Gold - A grandfathered level used by Dredded Thunder. Given to past Royalty both within and without the SCA, in addition to those who went above and beyond in their service to Dredded Thunder.
<li>Elder - An individual who has continually exemplified the ideals of Thunder by providing service to the clan, their local group, Barony, and Kingdom.

==Membership==
Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder does not look for Members. There is a strict policy for admission that must be discovered by the individual.

Cian mac Conmara became involved with the S.C.A. in 1981, after high school graduation. He lived in what would become the Shire of Mugmort within the Barony of Middle Marches in the Middle Kingdom. He was one of the first (uncredited) A&S Officers of the Shire. He moved to the Marche of Tirnewydd where his connection to the S.C.A. was cemented.

Cian traveled and lived, for a short time, in Crystal Crags within the Barony of Sentinels Keep of the Kingdom of Artemisia and in the Shire of Sangre del Sol of the Kingdom of Trimaris, before finally settling in Atenveldt. While in Atenveldt, Cian lived in the Barony of Atenveldt, and later moved to the (former) Shire of Nathair Airgid, where he served as an A&S Officer and as Seneschal. Cian returned to the Barony of Atenveldt after the Shire was disbanded.

Cian is the Patriarch of Corràn Dragons Guard Thunder, a small clan within the Greater Houses of Rolling Thunder. His Matriarch is Lady Catarine MacFadyen.

He was kidnapped as a child by the Danish Vikings that frequently invaded Clare and brought up as a healer, an herbalist, by the family that adopted him. He moved with his new family to Yorkshire in Danelaw, a region of northern and eastern England, in the early 11th century.

Cian's surname is a contraction of "Mac Cú Na Mara" meaning "Son of the Hound of the Sea". The name began with the chieftain Cumara, a contracted form of Conmara, of Maghadhair in county Clare, Ireland.

Cian was awarded an AoA by Áilgheanán and Amber in 2017.
